Rachael Scarborough King is an assistant professor of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She earned her Ph.D. from N.Y.U. in 2014 with a dissertation about letter writing and media shift in the long eighteenth century. She graduated from Columbia University in May 2006 with a B.A. in comparative literature and has worked as a reporter at the New Haven Register in New Haven, Conn.; The Bulletin in Bend, Ore.; and the Anniston Star in Anniston, Ala. She is now at work on a book project adapted from her dissertation. This site includes an archive of all her professional journalism work, as well as more recent thoughts on writing, academia, the (digital) humanities, and her ongoing book project.
